Ceiling Beam Projects in Charlotte-Area Homes

These are real ceiling beam projects in Charlotte-area homes, built from real wood in our Indian Trail shop and installed by our own team. Every photo shows our finished work, edited only for color and light.

A real wood beam on a vaulted ceiling and a floating mantel on painted brick, both measured, built and installed by Chava Grain & Beam by Chava Home Design.

How to Judge a Beam or Mantel Project From a Photo

Five details separate a real wood, made-to-fit project from a stock or foam install, and you can check all of them in a photo before you hire anyone.

  1. 1

    Look at the corners.

On a real wood box beam, the grain wraps around a tight miter corner. A seam or end grain along the edge points to boards simply nailed together.

  2. 2

    Check the ends.

Visible ends should be capped and finished, not hollow or covered with a plastic plate.

  3. 3

    Follow the ceiling line.

A beam built to the room sits tight against the ceiling and the walls, without wide gaps or filler strips.

  4. 4

    Compare the color.

Every board on a beam or mantel should share one tone. Patchy color suggests mixed stock lumber or a stain picked from a chart.

  5. 5

Ask what you are looking at.

Ask whether the photo is the company's own install, what it is made of and where it is. Every project on this page is our own work in a real home.

Questions About Our Projects

Straight answers to what homeowners ask before choosing a project like these.

Are these real Chava Grain & Beam by Chava Home Design projects?

Yes. Every project on this page is our own work in a real Charlotte-area home, photographed after installation and edited only for color, light and cropping. Design concepts appear only on other pages, always labeled.

Can you build a beam like one in a photo I saved?

Yes. Bring the photo to your free in-home visit. We measure your room, size the beams for your ceiling and match the look with real wood and stain samples.

Do you have projects in my neighborhood?

We work across Charlotte and Union County. Each community page adds real local projects as they are published; see the areas we serve.

Why don't you list prices for these projects?

Every room is different. We measure your space for free and send a written quote built for it, with the wood, size and finish you choose.

Can my mantel and shelves match the beams in these photos?

Yes. We build beams, mantels and floating shelves in the same wood and stain, so the room reads as one design.
